Dalai Lama participated in multiple events for interreligious harmony and has also held meetings with other religious heads. His involvement with scientists in various fields of science molded their relations with Buddhist monks to help people achieve peace. As greatly mentioned, many people in North America have adopted modified versions of Buddhist meditational practices to calm their minds or to concentrate them (Oxtoby,306). Peace of mind in any religion is very important and desirable to be achieved. Dalai lama knows that most religions have at some point the same aim that is to make a person a better human being (questions and answers). He wants people to be diverse thus, respecting other religions and creating a pluralistic society.Dalai Lama achieved third principle commitment by setting up departments with ministers in charge of education, preservation of culture and the rehabilitation and welfare of the community in 1959 (message to the 14th assembly). He believed that people have put their trust on him that needs to be fulfilled so as free spokesman of Tibet he also appealed to the United Nations to form the Charter of Tibetans living in exile that helped in the independence of Tibet. His work for Tibetans gained him noble peace price that includes 1987 Five-point Peace plan anticipated by him for rights and protection of Tibetans. His Holiness engagement with modern scientists caused addition of modern science in Tibetans curriculum. Somehow, Buddhism is a religion of peace and non-violence from the examples seen above the independence for Tibet was gained without any violence or war, calmly. Buddhists believe on karma so in order to achieve good an appropriate manner is what will make this world a peaceful place to live.
